Brisbane Day-Trip (Part 4) - Shopping in Brisbane

Food Court is not just any ordinary food court, it has shops too. It is located opposite Anzac Square. To get there from Anzac Square, you can use the underground passageway.

When you are on your way to Queens Plaza from Anzac Square, you will pass by some more shops, from a chocolatier to a florist.

Queens Plaza is home to different shops, including high-end retailer, David Jones. David Jones sells chic and elegant clothing. When shopping for clothes in Australia, the retailers sell clothing which fit the season. The clothing sold now is more suited for winter.

Queen Street Mall is alive with street performers, shops, cafes and a tourism information centre. The tourism information centre is large, with many maps and brochures about Brisbane and its surroundings. There are staff on-duty; therefore, you can ask them any questions if you like. People also buy tickets for certain events from the information office.

If you just love shopping, check out Just Jeans, which is opposite a row of cafes.

If you have an interest in books, Dymocks will be an awesome place for you. Dymocks sells books and DVDs for both children and adults, and other things as well (including gifts). Dymocks is on Albert Street, Shop D17/177.

An innovative way to tour the city is by bicycle. There are bicycle kiosks around the city. These bicycles are known as ‘CityCycle’. All you need to do to rent a bicycle is to pay via the CityCycle machine. The easiest way to notice the bikes is by the bright yellow Lipton Ice Tea logo at the back of the bike, near the rear wheel.

When you have completed your Brisbane adventure and wish to go back to Gold Coast, take the train from the Gold Coast Line. If you are staying in Surfers Paradise, alight at Nerang Station and take the bus from there to return to your place of accommodation.
